Seasons change, sometimes the sun shines and sometimes the rain cries.

I love waking up to blue skies and sunshine and I also love waking up to the sound of heavy rain, thunder, and lightening.

Even if you are the most positive person, the sun cannot shine everyday. There will be those kinds of days too when you wake up to grey skies and the gloom sets in. It is easy to get pulled into feeling down and wondering, is this it, the same thing day after day, year after year?

Some days you wish you could go back to the days when you could just pick up and leave, travel somewhere, or go on a road trip without a thought. It is on gloomy days like that when you begin questioning the meaning of life, your purpose on this earth, what the point of it all is.

For these kinds of days, I realize I need sunflowers or any flowers, to cheer me up. I like sunflowers because they follow the sun. Wherever the sun goes the sunflower lifts her head towards it. They each shine separately looking up at the sun. They say when there is no sun, sunflowers face each other on gloomy days to share their energy.

Stand tall and turn your face toward the sun just like the sunflower. When you are feeling off or feeling down, be like a sunflower. Turn to a friend or a loved one, someone who will lift you up to share their energy with you.

From afar, all the sunflowers look the same but when you look closely, you see that they are each special and different just like you and me.

Sunflowers always look so bright and happy. They shine their happy colours and put a smile on my face. I want to be like a sunflower raining sunshine down on others.
